January always brings with it a slew of activities here at Human Coalition, as we remember the grim anniversary of Roe v. Wade. And this year was no exception.

The week leading up to Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 18 offered several opportunities for our Multiply Life staff to speak to local congregations and champion the importance of the Church’s involvement in ending abortion:

  • We sent our Multiply Life team to serve as ambassadors at Healing the Racial Divide, a racial reconciliation event held at The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas. Spearheaded by Bishops Harry Jackson and T. D. Jakes, it was a gathering of church and spiritual leaders designed to help participants take specific steps toward healing and unification within the Church and culture at large.
  • Reverend Sean Martin, Senior Director of Multiply Life, spoke at 121 Community Church in Grapevine, Texas; hosted a forum at The Village Church in Plano, Texas; and served on a panel of pro-life speakers at Mosaic in Arlington, Texas.
  • Brian Fisher, President and Co-Founder of Human Coalition, preached at Christ Community Church in Frisco, Texas, to commemorate their Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.
  • Dave Sterrett, Director of Church Outreach, served as the guest preacher at Springdale Community Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and also spoke at a student forum held on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas.

Human Coalition further commemorated Sanctity of Human Life Month by heading up several events in conjunction with the National March for Life on January 22:

  • On January 21, the evening before the march, we co-sponsored a large prayer and worship meeting, OneVoiceDC, in collaboration with several other pro-family, pro-life, and pro-liberty organizations. The time was spent repenting for the sin of abortion, praying for the healing of our nation, and seeking justice for the unborn. An estimated 350 people attended the event.
  • On the heels of this monumental event, over 300 Human Coalition supporters marched in the National March for Life. Immediately following the march, we hosted a round-table forum in the nation’s Capitol Building, featuring pro-life congressman and senators such as Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Before the month is over, our Multiply Life team will put the final touches on a Life Advocate Training series that will launch at the end of March. This curriculum will provide a scientific, logical, and biblical defense for Life, with the intent of training up champions for Life within local churches.

To accompany this training series, our team is in the process of writing a series of four booklets, entitled Pro-Life 101, to be published at the end of the first quarter of 2015. These easy-to-understand booklets will serve as a basic tutorial to the ideas and concepts of the most effective pro-life arguments.

What we do in January sets the tone for what we hope to accomplish in the coming year. We invite you to join us.
