Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (ESV)

Sarah never imagined God would use her struggles with unhealthy relationships, bad habits, and single motherhood to encourage other women facing an unexpected pregnancy. But as a Human Coalition Contact agent, that’s exactly where God has her.

The first point of contact for many who call Human Coalition, Sarah finds herself uniquely qualified to comfort hurting women.

Having had her first child at just 17 years old, and then becoming a single mom of two boys by age 23, Sarah understands the fears and despair that an unexpected pregnancy can bring. “I became a mom at the young age of 17. Although times were rough, I am grateful God provided my two boys and a great support system – my mom, sister, and church family. “

Sarah draws on the pain of her past experiences to infuse hope into seemingly hopeless situations. With humility and grace, Sarah asks questions about a woman’s situation and her reasons for wanting an abortion. In many cases, those reasons come down to financial, emotional, or relational struggles – things Sarah is all too familiar with.

“Being a single mom is not easy, and yet it’s a truly rewarding experience. I believe that through every challenging circumstance comes growth.”

Sarah is also familiar with the bad habits and poor decisions that exacerbate the stress of an unexpected pregnancy. It’s because God brought Sarah through these tough seasons that she’s now able to comfort women walking a similar path.

“The challenges of being a single mom have prepared me for what I do here at Human Coalition. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to help people, especially women who have suffered abuse. I am grateful God placed me in this organization full of dedicated people, working together with determination to save lives.”

Sarah finds joy in offering hope and comfort to the women who contact Human Coalition. Serving as the first line of defense for children at risk of being aborted, she has the opportunity to share her experiential wisdom with so many at-risk women. “I turned to Jesus. I knew I had to allow the Lord to work in me and provide healing from my broken past. My newfound hope is in Him.”

Now Sarah is on a mission to help other young women do the same. “I am honored to be part of a team that helps these women become the best moms they can be.”
