Randall P. Smith

Randy Smith joined Human Coalition’s board in July of 2021.

He is presently, the Executive Director of Guardian Independent Operator Association. An association of Chick–fil-A Operators nationwide that negotiates over $100,000,000 million dollars of health, life and disability insurance for over 1200 Operators and over 20,000 team members.

Prior to his retirement in 2018, Randy served at Chick-fil-A Inc. for 34 years. He held various managerial and executive positions and had strategic responsibility for all catering sales and building strategic infrastructure to support catering sales growth from 50 million to over 700 million dollars. He also created the System Engineering Department and was the Quality manager that played a key role in creating measurement systems that improved overall Quality and Customer Satisfaction. Before his work at Chick-fil-A, he held other positions of increasing responsibility in sales, sales management, manufacturing and administration with Procter and Gamble, Polaroid Corporation, and Burlington Industries.

In 1976, Randy received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) in Economics and Management from Georgia State College University. He also has additional leadership and management training from: Columbia University, The Wharton School of Business, Washington University, American Society of Quality, Juran Institute, American Management Society, Chick-fil-A University, and The U.S Army War College.

Throughout his life, Randy has committed himself to community and international efforts. Internationally he served on the board as well as the Chairman of the board of Global Resources Services (an NGO with projects in China, DPRK, and the Philippines, that provided aid and assistance via humanitarian and development mobilization to address global food insecurity). Locally, he was appointed by the governor of the State of Georgia to the Board of Human Services, and dedicates time to many humanitarian causes and programs.

Randy is a native of Georgia, born in Atlanta. He has been married for 41 years to Wendy Smith and they reside in Marietta, Georgia. They have three children, ages 36, 34, and 31, and are blessed to have five grandchildren.
