Prayer: The Foundation of Restoration

At the start of each week, Amy Lavelle, our clinic director, faithfully leads our team in a time of devotions. We pray for our clients’ challenges and the insurmountable obstacles they face each day – because we know that prayer is foundational to the work of restoration.

When clients come into our care, they’re often in a fragile emotional state. Many are dealing with fear and high anxiety. It’s like looking at a massive whiteboard and seeing seven different languages they can’t understand. They feel uncertain and don’t know where to turn for help.

This is why prayer is so important. When our clinic staff, volunteers, churches, mentors, and friends all pray, it creates a foundation, a bedrock for an improved condition. This opens the door for restoration to occur.

As we look ahead to September, we invite you to come and hear firsthand the stories of restored lives at our event on Thursday, September 26, at Bella Sera in Canonsburg. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; the program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and conclude by 8:00 p.m.

As you prepare for the evening, remember this quote from John Wesley: “Prayer is where the action is.” It’s a favorite of mine.

So if you want to be where the action is, keep praying and join us on September 26.
