As a mom of two children, the thought of having another child terrified “Aria.” She’d had an abortion before, leaving her with emotional wounds that hadn’t healed.
Tragically, her last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Aria admitted she’d handled it physically, but the mental and emotional trauma was overwhelming to her. The stress of another pregnancy brought back troubling memories she didn’t want to face again.
To make matters more intense, Aria was living in a shaky relationship with her boyfriend (the baby’s father) and didn’t know how he would respond. As an unemployed single mom who was dependent on him financially, keeping the baby could be disastrous.
Due to her circumstances, abortion seemed like her only option. Our culture was telling her that abortion would “eliminate her anxiety and responsibility,” but she felt conflicted. Aria struggled with the decision and started looking online for answers about abortion.
Thanks to your generous support for moms in crisis, Aria connected with our team and received free information about abortion. She spoke with a compassionate healthcare professional on the phone, who helped her slow down and consider all her options, not just abortion.
Soon after, Aria visited one of our life-affirming pregnancy centers, where she received a free pregnancy test and ultrasound. It was here that Aria discovered her baby was healthy and strong. Seeing her child as a recognizable human being made Aria more optimistic about keeping her baby.
But hopelessness still lingered in her mind. Aria wanted to keep her baby, but her fears weighed heavily on her.
The pregnancy center staff continued to walk with Aria as she wrestled to make the “right” decision. They graciously listened to her concerns and assured her that she would receive ongoing support from the team to overcome her deepest needs. As she began imagining her baby as a sibling to her two young girls and a gift to her family, she ultimately chose life and continued her pregnancy.
Aria’s family was thrilled when she shared the good news with her mother, siblings, and daughters. Initially, the father of the baby was undecided. Unfortunately, he later abandoned Aria and their preborn baby, leaving her to face the challenges alone.
Feeling abandoned and overwhelmed, Aria turned to the pregnancy center staff for emotional, financial, and practical support. Through the Continuum of Care program, Aria’s social worker helped her create a plan that would bring stability to her life and her children’s lives.
Because of your support, Aria found stability. She secured a new job as a nursing assistant, moved into her own place, and gained access to counseling and parenting classes. She received baby essentials like clothes, diapers, wipes, and a car seat.
Throughout the process, Aria expressed heartfelt gratitude for the numerous check-in calls from the pregnancy center nurses and help from the Continuum of Care staff. She was especially grateful for the many baby care items, which helped her prepare for her new child. Thanks to the support of rescuers like you, Aria has been overwhelmed by the love and support she received.
After her son “Braydon” was born, Aria sent a beautiful picture of him with his sisters to the pregnancy center. She included a heartfelt note saying, “Thank you for everything! From me, Braydon, and family.”
Because of your prayers and support, moms like Aria are learning the truth that they can rise above the challenges they’re facing. Moms in crisis are learning that Christlike, compassionate care is available to help them gain long-term stability. And most importantly, they are learning that abortion is not their only option. In fact, it’s not necessary at all.
It’s important to remember that thousands of babies in the womb remain in immediate danger of abortion across the country. Their moms are overwhelmed by so many of life’s challenges. There is dangerous access to the abortion pill, and many moms turn to Planned Parenthood in desperation, where they are told the lie that abortion is their only choice.
So, thank you for your faithful support and the lifesaving difference you’re making every day for the next mom and child, like Aria and Braydon.
