“Ali” was devastated. Her long-time boyfriend was going to prison for a very long time. She couldn’t believe it.

Fear and panic overwhelmed her, and she sought comfort in the arms of a co-worker. A short time later, she discovered she was pregnant with his child. Thoughts flooded her:

How could I have been so irresponsible? What am I going to do now? What was I thinking?

She hoped that since her coworker already had children, he’d be excited about having another one. A woman of faith, she’d always wanted to be a mother. But when she told the baby’s father she was pregnant with his child, he wasn’t supportive. In fact, he told her he didn’t want any more children, she should get an abortion, and he’d pay for it.

How can I bring a child into this world alone? she thought. He doesn’t want our baby. I can’t force him to do this.

So Ali planned to take the abortion pill, RU-486. However, she ultimately decided to come to our women’s care clinic instead. On the way, Ali prayed, “God, show me my baby and help me know what to do.”

At our clinic, Ali shared her situation with the nurse and how she’d been praying for God to let her see her baby via ultrasound.

Through our free ultrasound, Ali was able to meet her little boy, “Nathan.” She fell in love with him right there. She told the nurse that it was very clear that God was calling her to step out in faith and trust Him. Ali chose life for her little boy!

Nathan is now Ali’s whole world, and she shared that she cannot imagine her life without him!

Through our Continuum of Care program, Ali received the help and support she needed to choose life. And through our free ultrasound, Ali was able to meet her son. On behalf of Ali and Nathan, thank you for your commitment to provide this life-affirming, Christ-centered care to at-risk women. We truly appreciate you!
