“Angela” wanted only the best for her 3-year-old daughter, so she broke up with her drug-addicted boyfriend. Her hope for a fresh start quickly dissipated, however, when a pregnancy test revealed she was pregnant. She searched online for help and called our women’s care clinic.

The ultrasound showed that her preborn baby was the exact gestational age that Angela’s daughter had been when Angela saw her for the first time on the monitor. This “coincidence” conjured up many sweet memories for Angela, as she thought about the love she felt for her daughter. Indeed, she was now parenting alone, but she was also making the best of it. Couldn’t she do the same for this baby?

Leaning toward choosing life, Angela expressed anxiety about her financial situation. That’s when we connected her with our Care Coordinator. Together, they discussed the resources available to Angela, including financial assistance and other services that would alleviate her financial burden. The anxiety that had gripped Angela’s heart slowly eased, as she came to realize she wasn’t alone in this journey. At that moment, Angela chose life for her child.

Through the Human Coalition Continuum of Care program, Angela got access to some of the best local resources to help her be a great mom to her newborn.

Last summer, Angela gave birth to a delightful baby boy, “Noah.” She routinely meets with our Care Coordinator and receives all the support she needs to be a great mom. Celebrate Angela and Baby Noah with us!
