A huge victory was won by pro-lifers when the “One Big Beautiful Bill” was passed, and on July 4, 2025, Planned Parenthood was defunded for a year. This sweeping piece of legislation significantly cut federal Medicaid funding, which is taxpayer money, designated to be used by the abortion giant. The results were telling: 

• Nearly 60 Planned Parenthood clinics closed their doors or consolidated with nearby clinics across 20 states.  

• As written in the Independent, “’the withdrawal of funds – accounting for around $832 million or 39 percent of its $2.14 billion annual revenue – has already done ‘irreversible damage’ . . . according to Nora Walsh-DeVries, PP’s vice president for political and legislative affairs.” 

However, the “defunding” was only for a year and, as America celebrated its 250^th birthday on July 4, 2026, Planned Parenthood has regained access to that federal funding just one short year later. This renewed funding will not only allow the abortion giant to continue the heinous work it does, but will also supplement the new avenues they used in the face of the temporary funding loss.  

Big Abortion profits from the suffering of women and the loss of more than a million preborn children every year — all while receiving millions of taxpayer dollars. 

Now that the federal funds have started flowing, Planned Parenthood will ramp up its devious practices again, including: 

• 40% of all abortions in the U.S. That’s well over 1,000 abortions every day. 

• Lying to women, telling them the baby in their wombs is only a clump of cells, not a living person. 

• Causing the deaths of 434,450 children in the 2024-2025 fiscal year. In just one fiscal year, nearly half a million children are gone because of one American business. 

• Expanding its telehealth business while closing brick and mortar facilities. 

• Being one of the largest sellers and promoters of the abortion pill, which produces at least 65% of abortions in the US.  

• 70% of all the abortions they performed were done with the deadly chemical abortion pills. 

• Lying to women that the mifepristone is safer than Tylenol. 

• Claiming to be a guardian of women’s health, where in fact, it is an abortion mill that has little to do with helping women.  

• According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, “In 2023-24 (pg. 17), 97% of the time, women seeking help related to their pregnancy at Planned Parenthood were sold an abortion rather than given prenatal care, provided care for a miscarriage, or helped to make an adoption plan. 

• Defrauding its abortion clients by withholding information that is pertinent and relevant to their decision about the procedure, and then selling them a procedure that robs them of their preborn children. Unfortunately, many women discovered this after it was too late.  

The list can go on endlessly. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America put it best:

“Taxpayers should not be funding Planned Parenthood’s business of death and harm. Abortion is the leading cause of death in America topping 1.1 million abortions in 2024. 
Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion market doing nearly 40% of all abortions in the U.S. and carries out 402,230 abortions in a year (2023-2024). That’s the equivalent of New Orleans’ entire population or 10 times the number of people Times Square holds. 

Most Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortions.  

Nearly 60% of Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortions. This includes 33% of Democrats, 41% of pro-choice voters, and 58% of Independents.” 

On July 4, 2026, Americans displayed their flags and lit fireworks while celebrating the 250^th anniversary of the greatest country on earth. Despite all the enthusiasm, our elected officials handed Planned Parenthood an enormous gift – that of our tax dollars. They chose the abortion industry over the lives of future Americans. So, instead of celebrating, we are forced to mourn the deaths of millions of babies who are being aborted in the womb. 

Sadly, a country that stands on the belief of the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness continues to destroy the foundational right: the right to life. And that is at the taxpayers' expense so the largest offender of abortion can go on with its devious practices and killing thousands of innocent babies every day. 

CALL TO ACTION 

So, what can we do to combat this tragedy and turn our country around? Here are a few suggestions: 

#1: Contact your federal representatives and let them know you don’t want to fund Planned Parenthood with your tax dollars. You have one representative in the House and two senators. 

#2: Volunteer in the fight for life. 

#3: Most of all pray for the end of abortion in America, making it unthinkable and unnecessary. 

Abortion must become unthinkable in a nation where life is wrongly viewed as disposable. The Bible reminds us that it is God alone who gives “life and breath and everything else” (Acts 17:25). Every child, beginning as a single-cell human, is created with inestimable value from the moment of conception.  

Side by side, we can build a culture of life where every child is welcomed and valued, and where no mother experiences the pain of feeling that abortion is necessary in her situation.   

Together, we can see the day when abortion is not only illegal — but unthinkable.
