After she discovered she was pregnant, “Katie” followed up on a referral to an abortion clinic, only to find that it had been shut down due to noncompliance with new laws. She then called our women’s care clinic in Grapevine, which offered her a free ultrasound to verify the viability of the pregnancy and a confidential consultation with a specialist. Katie was unsure of the paternity of her preborn baby, and she felt very alone.

Our clinic’s staff spoke hope and possibility into Katie’s situation, and she would later say that she felt encouraged and supported to hear the confident declaration, “You can do this!” In the days following her first visit to the clinic, Katie revealed her pregnancy to her mother, who suggested they pray and ask God what Katie should do. Her mother vowed to support whatever Katie decided was best.

With the support of her family, friends, and coworkers, Katie finally made her decision. She chose LIFE. Katie recently visited our clinic to show off her new baby, and she shared, “Y’all were really there for me when I was so scared in the beginning. You were open, not pushy, and I didn’t feel judged.”
