“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” – Acts 20:24 (NKJV)

Human Coalition’s mission to make abortion in America unthinkable and unavailable is a marathon not a sprint. Our work to rescue babies from abortion, while providing for the physical and spiritual needs of their mothers, is a long-term investment that often requires years of sacrifice and steadfastness.

As our annual Run for Life 5K draws near, the words of the apostle Paul remind me that we are called to run this race with joy.

  • When a woman chooses abortion even after we’ve sacrificed our time, tears, and prayer, we don’t despair.
  • When a woman leaves our office still wavering in her decision between life and death for her preborn child, we don’t lose hope.
  • When abortion supporters rail against us, misrepresenting our work and presupposing our intentions, we stay the course.
  • When a promised donation doesn’t arrive and the bills are piling up, we trust God.

Despite disappointments and discouragements, we stay focused on the mission to which we’ve been called, and we rejoice in the victories that God graciously gives us. For example, so far this year, our women’s care clinic has rescued 120 lives. And thanks to improvements we’ve made in the way we reach and interact with abortion-determined women, we are on our way to making 2017 our best yet in terms of the number of lives saved.

You can be a part of reaching this amazing goal, by joining us for our annual Run for Life on June 3. This family-friendly event is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, bringing people from all across the South Hills together for one purpose: to save the children in our community from abortion.

Together, we will “run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1) while supporting Human Coalition’s lifesaving work.
