Volunteer Opportunities at the Pittsburgh Women’s Care Clinic
Here are several ways to get involved at the WCC:
Front Desk Receptionist: Check-in clients as they arrive for their appointments;
assist clients coming in for material assistance items; assist the WCC staff with administrative duties while working at the front desk; and answer phone calls from the WCC clients, donors or vendors. Commitment: 3-hour shift weekly.
Childbirth Class Instructor: Teach first time mothers how to be prepared for labor and delivery. Subjects include: Medications available, C-Sections, Breathing techniques, and more. Commitment: Make your own schedule with the clients. Typically three 1-hour classes per client.
Material Assistance Volunteers: Organize new and “gently used” clothing donated to the WCC. Commitment: Once or twice a month or as needed depending on amount/frequency of donations.
Continuum of Care Mentors: Volunteer to walk beside a woman, father-to-be or a couple, who has chosen life. Be a role model; coach them into making good lifestyle choices; join them at the food bank or a doctor’s appointment. Special Training available for this position. Commitment: Once a week for six months.
Diaper Drive Coordinator: Locate and work with local churches or groups to organize diaper drives for the WCC. Commitment: Once scheduled and organized, Quarterly for actual Diaper Drive.
